Phu Quoc · planning guide

Phu Quoc island boat trips for groups

The south of Phu Quoc is a scatter of small islands, the An Thoi islets, with clear water and snorkelling around Hon Mong Tay, Hon Gam Ghi and Hon May Rut. Groups reach them by speedboat, by a larger day boat or on a private yacht.

Choosing the vessel

  • Speedboat: fastest between the islets; best for small private groups.
  • Larger day boat: one vessel for a whole group, with shade and space for lunch on board.
  • Private yacht: sunset cruises, VIP hosts and wedding guests.
  • Several boats in convoy: when the group is larger than one vessel's licensed capacity. We never load a boat beyond its licence.

Hon Thom by cable car

The cable car from An Thoi to Hon Thom is about 8 km long and crosses the sea above the islets. It suits large groups who should not all go by boat and is a useful alternative on a windy day, although it can also pause in strong wind or storms.

What we confirm before each boat day

  • The licensed passenger capacity of every vessel.
  • Life jackets in the right sizes, including for children.
  • Skipper, crew and the meeting pier.
  • The weather decision time and the land alternative.

Questions planners ask

How many guests fit on one boat?

It depends on the vessel and its licence. The quotation names the capacity of each boat, and larger groups are split into a convoy rather than squeezed onto one.

Can non-swimmers join a snorkelling day?

Yes. They wear life jackets and can stay on board; we mark non-swimmers on the manifest so the crew can plan each stop.
